Gordon & Rees Proud to Sponsor First Graduate's "CAP & GOWN"

Celebrating Those Who Are (And Will Be) First in their Families to Graduate from College

Celebrating First Graduate's Students:  Gordon & Rees is a  proud sponsor of First Graduate’s fifth annual “Cap & Gown” celebration to be held on May 7 from 6-10 p.m. at San Francisco City Hall.  First Graduate is one of Gordon & Rees's Diversity Committee's "pipeline initiatives," which led a former San Francisco partner to join First Graduate's Board of Directors.  The Cap & Gown event honors the accomplishments of the high school students who have been mentored and tutored by First Graduate since 7th grade and who are now on their way to college to become the first college graduates in their families. The event honors community leaders who were the first in their families to graduate from college.  This year's honorees are Steve Miller (CEO of the Andre Agassi Foundation for Education) and Larry Stupski (former president/CEO of Charles Schwab Corporation and co-founder of the Stupski Foundation).  Scott Shafer from NPR is the emcee.  The event’s Honorary Chair is Sara Martinez Tucker, former Under Secretary of Education, and former President and CEO of the Hispanic Scholarship Fund.

Celebrating Our Own First Graduates:   Gordon & Rees has its own "first graduates" including Stuart Gordon, Jewel Basse, Marlena Cannova, Andrew Castricone, Lisa Crowfoot, Charles Custer, Melissa Fairbrother, Lee Grygo, E.J. Kim, Jennifer Lu, Carrie Lubinski, Amy Maclear, Holly MacPherson, Arthur Schwartz, Deborah Smith, Adriana Vera and Leslie Wright in the San Francisco office.
